Boost Your Immunity With Better Habits
You might not realize it, but your lifestyle can influence your immunity, which means that you can boost your immunity by building better habits! If you are constantly stressed out, your body is producing far too much of the stress hormone cortisol
Cortisol is one of the immune system’s biggest enemies. So, your first lifestyle step to boosting your immunity is to learn how to manage your stress. First, you will need to determine the cause of your stress to try to eradicate it at the root.
However, there are a few tips I can offer you to help you manage your stress as is. Sleep is your new best friend.
The average adult needs around seven hours nightly, so set a healthy bedtime routine and go to bed at the same time each night and rise at the same time each morning. Avoid caffeine after 2 pm, and do not rely on alcohol. It might help you nod off, but it leads to a more fitful sleep.
Exercise and meditation are your next tools in the fight against stress. Exercise boosts your body’s ability to fight infection, so aim to get at least 20 minutes of daily exercise.
A five-minute meditation session daily is plenty. Just sit quietly and focus on your breath and the moment you’re in. Meditation helps manage blood pressure and anxiety.
Stay healthy and take care!
